Menara Kuala Lumpur (MKL)

After being with my new job for 3 weeks, here's an overview of what my Mon-Fri looks like every morning!

I start my journey wee hours in the morning, even until i get to see the sunshine through the clouds!

There's one shot of the tower! I took it right after turning into Jalan Raja Chulan after Pudu road. The building with TM logo on it is the Muzium Telekom.

New place, new office. =D

Not forgetting, new colleagues as well!

Another shot from another view of the tower.

A free shuttle service to go up the tower is prepared for tourists and also the employees. =)

A black & white shot of glasses taken while at work. hehe...can't help myself.

FIREDRILL EXERCISE @ MKL

We had a firedrill exercise to ensure that icons such as this one in KL be prepared for any fire accidents, bombings or even attacks. Scary to even think about it but you never know right? Here's some photos taken by a photographer during the exercise.

Breakfast with the MKL employees

Taken while i was reading the paper just b4 the whole exercise starts.

On the Observation Deck, having a laugh with one of the interns, Puva

Interviewing Dato' Zul on what he thinks of the whole exercise

Interviewing the Ketua Fireman

Wanna come for a visit? Do call me!

Look what i found recently...!

An ol' skool japanese camera...with a flash somemore! haha.. I was spring cleaning the house & saw a string-tied-medium-sized-black-pouch & brought out this. I had this big smile on my face before shouting for mama to check it out. She laughed & said it was bought by papa after when they got married.

I was like "OMG, yeker?!! This is soooo ol'skool maaaaaa!!"....and i laughed somemore. Happy to find it actually.

Front & Back

I like the back look of the case, got that handbag look with buttons and all..hehe

Let's check it out closely ehh..

This little-black-manual-ol'-tech is actually rather heavy and imagine me carrying it all over, i think it weights about 1.5kgs kot?! =S

But the best thing about this jap cam is the snap button. Before u click to get a shot, u have to actually twist the little-black-latch below the snap button.

So, in order to use this is also similar to the DSLR cams but only it came with a little twist! ;)

TWIST-LOOK-FOCUS-&-SNAP!

Now, it looked as if it's ready to be used but I wonder if it still............works? =S

Slurp Slurp!

I love soups.

From Western's mushroom soup & seafood bisque to Asian's Vienamese beef noodle soup, tomyam, seaweed soup, miso soup, asam laksa, soto ayam, kuey teow soup, bihun soup, macaroni with shredded chicken soup and even soupy dishes like asam pedas, ikan singgang and 'kiam chai th'ng' (salty vegetable soup with tofu).

The cooking style for soups that i like best are mainly the clear-see through-simple ones like tomyam and chicken broth and......

......my MOST favorite of them all will be kuey teow soup. I love kuey teow soup since i was young and till now has been and will always be my number 1 comfort food. It is so comforting to the stomach that i don't mind having it for breakfast, lunch, dinner even supper if i must say so.

Just last night, i had a bowl at The Straits Cafe in BU Centrepoint.

This particular cafe serves mainly local delicacies from Malacca & Penang. You can expect some of the local favorites like asam laksa, char kuey teow and even baba nyonya dishes like pandan chicken, fried kangkung and lauk perut ikan.

Everytime i'm around Centrepoint, i will head straight to The Straits Cafe just to get my kuey teow soup. I like the one served by this cafe because of the simplicity and sedap-ness of the clear broth. So clear and simple and yet very tasty! Simple garnishing of shredded chicken, few pieces of fishballs, some shredded lettuce and garlic oil....ahhh, heaven! I'll make sure i eat it with chilli padi to give me that extra kick in the mouth!

Hot soup + Chilli padi = Very satisfying meal!!

Also everytime i order kuey teow soup, i will also order the chicken with crispy fried fuchok skin also known as 'lorbak'. If not mistaken, 'lorbak' is a chinese dish and usually they serve it with pork instead of chicken. But lucky for me, this cafe serves Halal chinese delicacies. =D

Also not forgetting that glass of either cold cincau or ice barley lime!!!

My Bruneian Bestfriend, Lisa

Lisa & i

2 weeks ago, I was thrilled when my crazy bestfriend from Brunei, Lisa, whom i studied and lived with in Perth, came to Malaysia with her sister and cuz just to attend one of our uni friends wedding!! They all stayed at my place and we all had a great time...well, i know i did!! Hearing the laughter, squeals, murmurs and a familiar foreign language at my place, haha...oooh i really miss those moments!

At Pavilion foodcourt

'A Must!' snapshots with my darling friend

The best moment I remembered was the moment when they arrived, waiting for me at the foyer. Immediately at the sight of me walking towards them, my-dearest-cute-petite-Lisa-Samuil, cute and petite as she has always been, jumped up and down while squealing excitedly, ran towards me to give that great-big-hug, which i've been longing for!! The surprising squeal was the best lah eventhough it was already 2am in the freaking morning!! I was already thinking of the neighbours but once in a blue moon, what the heck kan? hahaha...Excitedness should be shown and expressed! =D

After that little commotion in the foyer, i finally invited them in and even after both Lisa's sister and cuz went to zzz, both Lisa and i were still chatting and gossiping!! hahaha...after so many years of not meeting, this was what happened...so many things to say and so little time. The time past so fast and even before we realized, it was already time for Subuh! hahaha...

Bruneians Meet Malaysians
(Saturday, 23rd May 09)

As a host, i took them shopping and a little bit of sight-seeing around town. As they came at the right time and weekend, i even planned a little nite out at Aristo, Zouk, with my dear Malaysian friends, just to show these little Bruneians what KL scene is like. The results??.....

Dressed up + Cool Place + Fashion Shows + Introductions + Boys + Girls + Music + Non-alcoholic-Drinks + Chat Sessions + Photography = Great Decent Nite!

Elina's Wedding @ Bayu Lakehomes, Nilai
(Sunday, 24th May 09)

As it was the Bruneians first Malay wedding in Malaysia, thus it was worth the trip to attend the said wedding and Elina looked so gorgeous in that silver and hints of red in her wedding outfits. Not forgetting the red killer heels!! She's one who adores the color red. =)

Congratulations El!! U were such a babe!!!
Great wedding.

Last Minute Shopping Day & Farewell
(Monday, 25th May 09)

Last day before their departure, one quick stop at One Utama Shopping Centre for last minute shopping, made their trip, 'A Walk to Remember'....which literally also involved many pairs of heels!!

At LCCT, just before take off, we had some bites at Mc D's, also accompanied by Ezani. Talking about Ezani, maybe it was the right timing these girls came as a relationship may just about to start blooming between one of the little petites and ze boy. =D

=D

Pacha!

I hope you girls had enjoyed your trip here in Malaysia. You all are more than welcome to come again and crash at my place. Anytime!!! Also thank you for the great weekend spent with me, mama & friends & also not forgetting the Wajid waaa!!! hehee...
