2 days to New Year!

Dearest friends & family,

We will be ushering into the new year very very soon. New resolutions to be made. Looking forward to see what's in for me next year! It seems very fast 2009 passes by & many unexpected events & happenings i've gained & experienced. Definitely interesting to share in the next post maybe? We'll see...

Anyhoots, i took my time to do a simple new year design using soft hues of coral, white & light pink. I don't usually prefer pinkish tones but i guess as the new year approaches, new things will happen, starting with me liking a little brighter colors. Plus, colors contribute to my happiness & smiles most of the time. My inspiration of life.

So...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Have fun & a safe celebration. Wishing ALL of you endless happiness, good health & prosperity.

Let me share with you my fave altered quote..
"A SMILE A DAY, KEEPS ME HAPPY EVERYDAY!"
;P

Last week's happenings...

Last week, as Raya Haji fell on a Friday, therefore there were many things had to be done like last min paperwork, meetings...& also not forgetting the many schedule reminders (basically, to remind me) on the upcoming week's projects and so forth. It's not like i'll easily forget to do things but sometimes, when i have so many to handle & think at the same time, i'll always leave out the little work that should be done (ex: getting signatures/put up photos/prepare & print letters...). You must think it's easy but it's not. Seriously, if only i have supersonic brain that remembers every little thing that has to be done quickly, i'll definitely be nominated as THE BEST EMPLOYEE EVERY YEAR!

Anyway, what i'm trying to say is that thanks to the many reminders in hand, thus things get to be done properly & also i get to enjoy doing other things. These were my last week's happenings, which i managed to put work aside awhile & have fun...

Laundry Green Day Out
19 November 2009

It was this event that Sahilah & i went to check Stoned Revivals performed. We met & hung out with Sahilah's friend, the drummer, Alang & the saxophonist, Jeff.

Based on the theme, Laundry was set up to a cheerful beach mood with decors on squarish green grass, beach chairs, yellow dimmed lights & sweet combination of green, brown & white colors. To add on the cheery surroundings, live unplugged, chilled out tunes were performed by local bands & performers.

Muci's Birthday
21 November 2009

The night we celebrated Muci's birthday @ Piccadilly Restaurant located in PJ.

Blueberry Cheesecake

Dinner @ Frames TTDI
22 November 2009

A new place to eat, this time Mama & i ventured to a chic restaurant at TTDI Hills Plaza.

Frames, just the way the owner of the restaurant named it, literally put up frames of photographs around as the main interior decor. There were really some great & nice pictures to see & it's really eye catching.

Simplicity is the word to describe this eatery. Basic white walls-tables-&-chairs, black & white frames & white plates-cups-teapot-&-saucers. Very calming.

We shared our meals & we had lady grey tea with honey, lamb rack, aglio olio & tiramisu. The food was good & if you luv tiramisu like we do, then you should have a taste on this one. It's reaaaaaaaly good i tell you! The only thing was that it was quite small & rather pricey for a piece of cake.

Interview with SevenCollar T-Shirt
24 November 2009

Us girls with the band boys

Sahilah asked me to accompany her to do an interview with the local band, SevenCollar T-Shirt. She was preparing a newsletter, which will be out anytime soon now. I'm sharing her enthusiasm & can't wait to get hold of a copy!

She handled the interview well & it went pretty smoothly. Very well prepared & she did her homework. I was amused seeing her asking Qs while laughing, writing, scribbling, smiling, giggling, talking & fidgeting...as there were cats lying around & they seemed really into her during the interview. Haha...i mean i could not blame her for being that way because the cats were rather huge and big! The keeper who is also manager to the band really feed them well. Normal local cats turned to giant fatso cats! Meoooow...oh did i mention to you that he keeps 9 cats in the house? All more or less the same size, active & very very cute!!!

The best part of the whole interview session was when Sahilah gave me the cd. Given 3 different copies by the manager, she gave me the one in the pic above. If not mistaken,it's the latest album recorded and it's rather cool. I've never listened to their music before even though they've been in the music scene for some time now. Heard of them but never really hear them? hehe..but yea, i luv their songs. Wild Child & Fragile are interesting! =)

*Thanks babe!! Luv ya!!

Last but not least...

..
Khaliq, for being such a good sport in joining us crazy, loud people & also taking our photos (even when it's just a surprise b'day but u snapped us seriously like we were having a major event!).
..
Farah, thank you for making it easier for us to surprise you as you were clueless & also the 'merajuk' part...awesomely great timing!!! Happy 25th & welcome to the club babe!! hahaha...

Worth to be learned & remembered

While talking to my dearest friends on the phone or merely just hang out together, i notice that adages are used in our conversations. These adages are not new and we used to learn them way back during our school years! As i rarely include them in my daily chats or topics of discussions, therefore it's hard for me to have a clear meaning of each adage, especially malay adages. Eventhough i don't quite understand to what each adage means but some that are mentioned, sounded very familiar and seemed easy to explain (but in my case, so hard to define!!).

Coincidentally, while flipping the newspaper today i found some adages, which would be useful for me to use in the near future or merely just for my own knowledge.

I'm sure most of you have heard the phrase blood is thicker than water.
As for the Malay versions for this phrase would be..

"ayer di cincang tidak akan putus"
&
"carik-carik bulu ayam, lama-lama cantum semula"

It's been a long time since i've heard these adages & am glad to be educated again! hehe..

*Should there be any good adage that u wish to share,
please do share them with me! =)

When i know it's already one month...

so, here i go dedicating this to u!

From a little crush to a rapid heartbeat that goes 'thud-thur..thud-thur',
Thanks to the unconscious mind of a drunken friend who created this matter,
Whether we playfully tease, mock, kid or banter among each other,
Remember remember, it's already the 18th of November!

I told YOU i'm good with dates. ;)

Playground mainly for Chicks...

CHIC POP : STREET MARKET
15 NOVEMBER 2009

It was Chic Pop: Street Market 2nd installment organized by none other than Tongue in Chic and this time it was held at Zouk, KL. Personally, i think it was a suitable place to organize events such as this for some reasons:
  • Window shoppers & serious buyers get to take their time rummaging through & check out stuffs they might be interested in WITHOUT having sweats trickling down their foreheads & backs.
  • Interesting spaces provided & cool location.
  • Weather factor...(especially if it rains non stop).
  • Air conds.
  • Ample parking spaces.
Here were the scenes of the street market that day...

Accessories & spaces

One little corner...

Bar & heels

The petite & the tall girls

People & trinkets

Checkers

Psychedelic Hasmah & super vintage frames

Window shoppers

Bags & lingeries

It was our first street market at Zouk & we had fun!
Mama got herself a bling-flower ring, Hasmah received a red, flower ring from mama & i got myself a handmade lipbalm (from Mimpi Murni)!

Definitely looking forward for the 3rd installment.
