Worth to be learned & remembered

While talking to my dearest friends on the phone or merely just hang out together, i notice that adages are used in our conversations. These adages are not new and we used to learn them way back during our school years! As i rarely include them in my daily chats or topics of discussions, therefore it's hard for me to have a clear meaning of each adage, especially malay adages. Eventhough i don't quite understand to what each adage means but some that are mentioned, sounded very familiar and seemed easy to explain (but in my case, so hard to define!!).

Coincidentally, while flipping the newspaper today i found some adages, which would be useful for me to use in the near future or merely just for my own knowledge.

I'm sure most of you have heard the phrase blood is thicker than water.
As for the Malay versions for this phrase would be..

"ayer di cincang tidak akan putus"
&
"carik-carik bulu ayam, lama-lama cantum semula"

It's been a long time since i've heard these adages & am glad to be educated again! hehe..

*Should there be any good adage that u wish to share,
please do share them with me! =)

When i know it's already one month...

so, here i go dedicating this to u!

From a little crush to a rapid heartbeat that goes 'thud-thur..thud-thur',
Thanks to the unconscious mind of a drunken friend who created this matter,
Whether we playfully tease, mock, kid or banter among each other,
Remember remember, it's already the 18th of November!

I told YOU i'm good with dates. ;)

Playground mainly for Chicks...

CHIC POP : STREET MARKET
15 NOVEMBER 2009

It was Chic Pop: Street Market 2nd installment organized by none other than Tongue in Chic and this time it was held at Zouk, KL. Personally, i think it was a suitable place to organize events such as this for some reasons:
  • Window shoppers & serious buyers get to take their time rummaging through & check out stuffs they might be interested in WITHOUT having sweats trickling down their foreheads & backs.
  • Interesting spaces provided & cool location.
  • Weather factor...(especially if it rains non stop).
  • Air conds.
  • Ample parking spaces.
Here were the scenes of the street market that day...

Accessories & spaces

One little corner...

Bar & heels

The petite & the tall girls

People & trinkets

Checkers

Psychedelic Hasmah & super vintage frames

Window shoppers

Bags & lingeries

It was our first street market at Zouk & we had fun!
Mama got herself a bling-flower ring, Hasmah received a red, flower ring from mama & i got myself a handmade lipbalm (from Mimpi Murni)!

Definitely looking forward for the 3rd installment.

Fancy BIG, ENGLISH.............breakfast?

My search and craving for appetizing, super breakfast was fulfilled, when i found out that one of the restaurants around KL serves it!

Together with my colleague, Hasmah, we went to La Bodega at Pavilion KL. Her enthusiasm of joining me was so...enthusiastic that i enjoyed watching her every move & behavior! I guess i found another cheeky partner to do some serious cheekiness with! ;P

Anyway, we went & like i expected, we were the first patrons of the day. Since the restaurant opens as early as 8am, so...we went rather early just to stock up our tummies! hehe...

After taken our seats & orders, i noticed the day around Pavilion's Connection area (where all the street bistros, cafes, indoor & outdoor hot spots are located) started with cleaners spraying and squeaky cleaned the tiled floors. It was a calming sight for me (now it reminds me of my previous post about my relaxation mode) seeing water splashed and sprinkled everywhere, damping the mixed gray floors.

Okay, now come to think about it, let me just run out of the breakfast topic awhile & share with u something. Just last month, someone had a conversation with me about Zodiacs (",) & he is really into the topic & i was fascinated listening to him. Talking about my Zodiac, which is Cancer, he explained that the main element is Water. He continued on discussing about other elements too especially what goes well with the Water element. Then i realized that every time i see droplets of water/swimming pool/carwash/rain & some other things that relates to water except for puddles...i'll be extra calm and relax. Could everything be so coincidental?

Anyway...back to my BIG, ENGLISH breakfast episode, enough said, here are the photos...

The breakfasts were simply good. I love the poached eggs, sausages & mushrooms!! Yum! Hasmah seemed to enjoy hers very much, as long as there are sausages, she's a happy chick!

Do try them when you are in search of a BIG, ENGLISH plate of wholesome goodness breakfast to keep you on the go. There are also other delicious selections to tempt your taste bud and fill your tummy such as pancakes, sandwiches...

MJ's This Is It ...

Click on the picture for the official website!

Like most writers/editors/film critics/journalists/bloggers, i too want to share my opinions on the real-life-entertainment documentary. It was very interesting & very entertaining! I enjoyed watching it as much as i enjoy sipping my daily cup of jasmine green tea. ;)

What i remembered clearly throughout the whole doco was firstly, the "Jam" song, which was really upbeat & the lyrics, well, you know..."Go With It, Go With It, Jam!......." the chorus really got me in tuned with the whole flow of the doco.

Next good scene was the dance rehearsal in the green room! They were trying to record the synchronization of the dance movements of few pro dancers for "They Don't Really Care About Us" music vid clip, which included the visual effects for the whole big group scene. This scene was really entertaining & gave me goosebumps watching them doing the MJ soldier moves...

Thanks to good sound systems from the doco & great booming speakers in the cinema, thus the whole music performances & singings were awesome! My legs & lips were practically moving on their own...i would have jumped up & dance if i could. But yea, cinema kan..not forgetting also the performances from the drummer, guitarists, back up singers & dancers...they were all so talented & great performers. So professional...

Talking about pros, there was this one particular guitarist, Orianthi Panagaris, (i actually managed to remember her name!!!) she was super duper brillliant with the way she strummed the strings of her guitar! That scene was definitely the BOMB!! She goreng gila as MJ said "It's time for you to shine"...(something like that) and she did go for it!! Young, talented & pretty, what a perfect package for entertainment industry such as this, plus a great resume performing with & for MJ, what more can a girl ask for eh?? I would want to be in her shoes...seriously..

Another person i wish to bring up is the back up vocalist, Judith Hill. Pretty lass with a big voice, wow...the song she sang together with MJ, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", melted everyone's heart in the cinema...

As for the late MJ, it was surreal & phenomenal seeing him on screen with the outfits & his cues on music beats to go in sync with the singings while rehearsing for the concert that was supposed to be the last memorable one. He actually gave a smile after rehearsing one of his hits during rehearsal. Lucky me to notice that during screening. It's sad to actually realize that he's already gone. However, whatever is left of him for his families & fans would definitely be his ever green famous songs & of course 'This Is It'.

I recommend you to watch it! A BIG THUMBS UP!

Here, There...Everywhere!!

Alexis Bistro

After the tour, i managed to meet up with some friends and catch up with the latest news on what's what, who's who, the hows & whens...when suddenly it hit me, i've never been hanging out with my family and friends for nearly a month.

To tell you the truth, i am still restless & tired due to the lack of sleep. Thank god it's Friday tomorrow!!! Yay!!! Can't wait to just stay in bed & lay for a maximum of 8-9 hours. (I'm already imagining myself waking up, feeling extra fresh & head straight to the sofa & start flipping to my fave channels...bestnya, can't wait!!!)

Anyway, even though i've missed the whole 1 month of needed beauty sleep, i still get to see my friends around town & the best part of the gathering was being able to do what i love most...EAT & SNAP!! Lol!!

Let me start with Alexis Bistro in Bangsar. I love Alexis Bistro for its comfort, decor & definitely the food. During my 3rd visit with mama, these were the orders of the night...

Oven Baked Cod Fish (Mama's all time fave fish)

Angel Hair Aglio Olio with Grilled Yabbies (I tink i can eat this everyday...)

Pavlova / Meringue (This is to die for..heavenly yummy!)

Wanna guess who got the last bite?! Lol!!
It popped straight into Via's smiley mouth...yum yum yum... ;)

Jalan Doraisamy

Recently, while working for the BASE Jump event, my colleagues took me to Jalan Doraisamy for a late night supper.

I had the chicken soup, which was surprisingly good! I think they used 'ayam kampung' & the soup was slightly spicy, thus it wasn't that filling to the stomach.

There were other food served at the stall too like nasi lemak bungkus, pulut panggang, telur rebus, char kuey teow & more. I love the nasi lemak bungkus. It's simply nice & cheap!! Definitely in my top list of fave places to eat.

.....

Food Stalls behind TTDI Market

Earlier today around 8.00pm, i had dinner behind TTDI market suggested by mama. She saw a program shown on tv about the food stalls being recommended for the good food. There we were & it's right smacked in the market outdoor parking area.

What we saw was some simple canopies, fluorescent lights & plastic tables & chairs set up for patrons. I was actually expecting it to be that way...simple. I luv the environment & plus it's quite reasonably chilling & not too noisy. Good environment.

It was just 2 stalls but there were a good variety of food waiting to be ordered & served. I was excited with the food selections. We had a set of roti jala with chicken curry, a piece of ayam goreng, 10 sticks of chicken satay, a plate of fried kuey teow & 2 glasses of limau suam kosong.

It was reasonably cheap & i'll be visiting it again to try other things. Don't u just luv hawker food?! Different places, different types of food & different environment...definitely my kind of lifestyle.

A sneak peek of some really cool shots!

For the 9th time this year, KL Tower International Jump Malaysia 09 started & ended with 3 THUMBS UP!

Imagine...

6 venues, 2 buses, countable KL Tower staff, 80+ of local & international jumpers, the amount of bags & suitcases, cameras, loads of office equipments & stationery, occasional bumpy-winding-narrow-roads, different kinds of scenery, the ever changing weathers, wee hours in the mornings & super duper late nights, sicknesses & lack of sleeps

all of the above mentioned, abruptly took over my life for the whole month of October!!!
Haa...the summary of the post event??!
I was bumped-tired-tanned-voiceless-dazed-happy-restless-unbelievable...
Actually, i'm still dazed and cannot believe that it's over...the BASE Jump tour ended, finally!

Enough of my yacking, anyway...
Like i promised in the previous posts before, pictures pictures here you go!

Sneak peek of some BASE Jump shots!
Don't forget to click for larger view...

Check out the mix of colors & concretes in this pic!

I luv the pic above!
The whole concrete structural view & jumper as subject, make this pic amusingly comes thrillingly alive! Plus the mix of luscious green, black-gray-white & hints of oranges & reds, portray it solidly, yet it's soothing to view...amazing shot!

No matter whichever venues they were taken to, they still stood at the edge & JUMP!

Have you ever wondered, on how these daredevils actually jumped off our local sky-high buildings & landed with either a smile or a satisfying shout?!
My thoughts went wild thinking about how they actually felt during the whole month liasing with them, jumping with arms wide opened & still walking back with gathered parachutes in their hands & when they do bumped into me, saying 'HI VIA...WOOHOOO!!'... =S

CRAZY!!!

Anyway for now, i'll be showing you only 3 pics taken by 1 of our assigned photographers for the event, Khaliq.

When im properly seated in my front of the laptop, then i'll spend my time typing & extracting ideas out of me in telling you how the tour went in each state! Of course, more pix will soon be uploaded...

Luv Luv!!
