Fat Spoon Cafe @ Damansara Utama (Uptown)

From now on, I'm happy to announce that FAT SPOON CAFE will officially open on the weekends (YES, we are open on Saturdays & Sundays now!!!) starting December onwards. So, finally the decision has been made by cousin, the manager of the cafe to choose Monday as their off days (Thanks to those who've been demanding for it to happen.).

With that, we wish to officiate our first Saturday opening by organizing a Junk Sale, featuring Leftblock and some of KL's best fashion bloggers coming in together to take part in the mini bazaar! You can definitely expect lots of preloved, vintage, never worn, books, knick knacks and etc...since, I've mentioned all these, I shall share some vendors partaking this event:

The Sitiawan Morning Market

I love going to morning market.

The familiarity of the mix local slangs (Hokchew, Hakka, Hokkien, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tamil, Bahasa & English) conversed while bargaining, fresh morning air, the musty smell, the noise, the crowd, the colourful sights of fruits, vegetables, seafood & poultry, the dry goods section, the colourful umbrellas, the food stalls & yes, you figure the rest...haaaa.

My fave stalls would be the ones selling soya bean & 'apom' (made & shown as below).

First, scoop the mixture of flour batter & spread thinly, evenly into the hot iron plate.

Then, place the hot iron plate onto the fire.

Lastly, slowly pick it up & fold in half & it's ready to be eaten!

Imagine...crispy, crunchy & soft on the inside. Yum!!! =D

Roti canai & teh tarik?

No doubt everywhere around us, there will surely be mamak & indian restaurants opened almost everywhere in every shop lot. If possible, corner the better!

Well, there's one in TTDI, which i found rather cute because of its logo.

The icon..is just funny & cute. I think it must be the eyes & the rounded head.
The color combination is also interesting & seems very inviting for customers to be drawn to it. Even though it's not a large space for dining, but i guess the mamak has it's own regular customers.

The menu has a variety of breads to choose from.
Reasonably priced & yummy...

They have cow's milk to be sold too. I heard a regular customer ordered a glass of "Nescafe Susu Lembu kurang manis" that morning i was there. Interesting...

Another thing about this place i like is that the tables & chairs are positioned in a school's canteen style. Everyone will sit together, wherever, sama-sama..hehe. That morning, we had some chats over breakfast with a nice, warm indian couple who are from BU. So friendly & they mentioned they love going to the market even if it's slightly expensive but it's clean & things are very fresh. I noticed there were not only locals but also foreigners eating there.

Do head down to TTDI Market for that piece of roti canai or maybe if u r like me, who prefers capati.

Luv Luv!
