Rakuzen, Plaza Damas

Mini Private Booth

I loved the mini private booth available at Rakuzen, Plaza Damas. It's like this little fit-for-two-box, set with a sexy dimmed mini lamp, comfy cushions, a little table just enough for 2 orders of set lunch and the best part, getting cozy with the person sitting rather closely, next to you. =)

It was very chilly in the restaurant but am grateful the weather outside was super awesome, warm and sunny bright!

So girls, if you wish to have some really intimate moments with your special someone or just that girly day out, go here. Unless you are really lucky that other patrons didn't bring their babies at that same time, then you'll have some quiet quality time. If not then I just hope you ignore those cryings and indulge in the good Jap food!! Yumsssszah!

I went to the other branch somewhere in Desa Parkcity.

Shogun Restaurant, One Utama

Last weekend, we had dinner at One Utama's Shogun Restaurant. Shogun in Japanese, literally means "a general". Anyway, we had japanese buffet that night & i had slices of salmon for my tummy! yum yum yum...hehe

Soup was served on the table which was included together with the buffet set.

My fave green bean, edamame.

This cute little things were Porcupine Buns, which can be found in the dim sum section. The fillings were filled with lotus paste & super duper yummilicious-cute!

Nordljus by Keiko

I love photography. Really, i do. It's calming and soothing to the eyes that view at nice-pretty-delicate photos taken by some really talented photogs.

I adore photographers. Really, i do. Because they have eyes that are cleverly and constantly capturing the beauty out of anything static or in full motion!

I do, I do, I do!!!

Do i sound abit poetic? Saje je actually. Everything came out like this while i was checking out Keiko Oikawa's photography page. While i was reading the 'About' segment then i realized that she started off with a food blog before the photog website.

It's called Nordljus.

Click on this photo!!! So yummy...

Now living in the UK with her husband, Keiko is originally from Japan. Not only she owns an English written blog, she also writes a Japanese blog.

My Post Melbourne Trip 09'

Via @ the Victoria State Library

Yup, i'm back from Melbourne 5 days ago & i'm definitely going back there again..or maybe Adelaide? Haha (I dah imagine Fatin & Anas saying "yes via! must come to adelaide pulak!!")..ohhh i must start saving up again! AND like i promised, photos photos..here you go!

Let me tell u slowly on where, who, when, why, how & what i did in Melb together with the photos ok...starting from my...

Morning, Flight day
23rd February 09'

Chelle, Chee Hong & i (look at my tired, sleepy, happy eyes) @ Mc D's b4 boarding flight

I was traveling with my cousin, Chelle, as she too planned to return to Melb. The amount of stuffs she brought back i tell you!!! Aiyoh..u cannot imagine. Seriously, i did pack for the trip but was sort of forced to not carry much for myself except for my personal items only, as each of us can only carry up to 20kgs. So there were 2 large suitcases & 4 hand carries, all clothes, clothes, clothes & shoes, all belong to one petite girl! hahaa...i knew that was coming and the fact that i went too was better so i can help out to bring stuffs back. All i did was just stared, kept quiet & laughed. hehehe..

Anyway, Chelle's bf was kind enough to send us to the airport in the wee hours of the morning. The flight was to take off at 9.50am. I was quite tired but excited at the same time. I'n happy wanting to see Liss (my other younger cousin) who's already in Melb. After having some makan @ Mc D's (mcm usual place to hang out b4 flight ke apa) then we boarded the plane!!

10am sky in Malaysia..this was taken immediately after take off

During flight, i managed to only get very little sleep as i dont really like being in an airplane. I just cant stand the smell of the whole area, the food & drinks, particularly orange juice. However, i got to watch 2 1/2 new movies, which i've missed due to working late nights nowadays. I watched High School Musical 3, The Women & bits of Rock&Rolla. I had much fun looking out the window actually as it was the first time i travelled during the day.

Evening, Melbourne Sky

Check these 3 pics out. Sunset in Melbourne's sky

I love the sunset sights. Just love the fluffy clouds, orange rays & silhouettes that were formed in the sky. Ahh...sooo romantic. hehe...I was glad to capture the sights in the sky. Wanna guess what time it was at that time?..................................8.18pm, Melbourne. Wow kan? hehe..mcm jakun but ya, guess it's just me, always fascinated with anything. hehe...

Night, A cup of hot coco with an old friend

Kokoblack cafe

Upon arrival, my dear friend, Kock Hong, came to pick us up. I was both happy and excited seeing him as we have not met since after high school! Omg, i can cry i tell u. haha..but i guess the excitedness of being in Melb overtook the whole sadness. He still has the same old personality and smiley face. hahaa..goodie goodie.

From airport, we stopped by at a chocolate cafe, Kokoblack for some drinks and to catch up on each other's lives. haha..it was a brief meet as he lives 45mins away from the city while my cousins are living in Swanston St, which is smacked right in the middle of the city itself. But it was worth every minute spending time with him as we chatted and updated what's going on with our lives, jobs, relationships, things & issues. (I guess u r doing pretty well there. Gudluck with the car and airplane designs!!) =)

Liss cooking for us!!

Finally, i reached the Verve Apartment in Swanston St. I luv their place much!! Very nice & comfortable i would say. PLUS..the view was beautiful. I luv the sights of tall buildings and architecture designs. Not to mention the lights! hehe..my first shot of the night view in Melb. hahaa...

First shot of Melbourne..abit blur though =P

Afternoon, Melbourne City
24th February 09'

Liss, Aunt & Chelle

The next day, my first meal was japanese!! i know my cousins and aunt love jap food. Fresh sashimi, sushi, hand rolls, tempura, teriyaki, soba noodle, unagi...ermmmm...best! Memang best lah..and u know sumthing, my jap food trip just didn't stop here tau. These 2 girls been taking me to all the jap restaurants that they know are good and i've actually counted the times i ate jap food in Melb!

Let's start with the first jap restaurant...

1. Menya Restaurant... 2. Another jap place which is abit more like a fine dining area

3. Cute jap restaurant

3. We found this third jap restaurant while we were walking around Chapel St. It's a cute little restaurant that fits certain amount of patrons & it's seriously cute!! i like the combination of olive green wall colour & the whole concept of it. Open kitchen, eating counter, nice wall colour, the usage of jap cutleries, plates & bowls...& also the jap language spoken by the cooks & some regular patrons. Even the toilet is cute! hehe..located outside of the restaurant at the backyard & the whole room is surrounded blocks of tree barks. So au natural!

My fave! Crispy Salmon Skin Rolls!

4. Koko (Jap Fine Dining Restaurant)

4. Above pics were taken at a fine jap restaurant, Koko, located in Crown. They served nice delicacies of fresh sashimi & also rolls. I love their crispy salmon skin rolls..sedap!

5th place...French-Japanese Restaurant, Nobu

5. Another day when i saw my uncle & family who lives in Melbourne, aunt treated us again at another fine dining jap restaurant. This is Nobu and according to Chelle, it's a French-Japanese Restaurant and also famous around the world. Apparently, in one of the Nobu restaurants somewhere in the world, Robert De Niro is a share owner/partner of it. Must check online about this. hehee..Nobu is also located in Crown...i wouldn't say it's very good but it was alright. Some dishes like the fresh sashimi and oooh!! i love the fresh scallops..sedappp!

6th place..i forgot what's this place called. haha..somewhere in the city in one of the streets

6. The 6th jap place was located in the city. I love the jap green tea which had the smell of rice jap crackers in it. Very aromatherapic and soothing. That day i ordered soba noodles & mixed seafood & veg tempura. Loved the combinations!

FINALLY...the 7th place was not a japanese la..but it was korean pulak!!!
hahaha...

The 7th restaurant was a korean restaurant. This was just b4 i was about to leave balik Malaysia. The food i ordered was the tuna & kimchi fried rice. Best giler!! The ppl who ate with me pun added more fun and kicked to end my trip. haaa....best!!!

To be continued...

(i'm sorry i got to stop this for now, as right this very moment like NOW...I have to pack and leave for Cameron Highlands with my parents & friends!!! hahahaha another post to write after Melb trip punya...later ppl!!)
