The Crowd

Last night, I had this tinge of craving for fish & chips. The thing is, I don't really like fish & chips. So, we went over to The Magnificent Fish & Chips Bar in Changkat just to see what's the hype about the food when suddenly there was this St. Patrick's Festival going out, with tables and chairs laid out on the whole stretch of Changkat road. Hoping for a table available at the restaurant, we went through the crowd anyway, where we were flashed with girls clad in sexy, skimpy green dresses, radio DJs wearing all in black, expats-old & young entering from every corner of the streets and of course, the after working people sitting around in groups with their working shirt sleeves rolled up, raising glasses at the same time eyes wandering wild checking girls out around saying "CHEERS!"...hehe, very St. Patrick's la...

But ya, like I expected, the place was packed & so we walked back out through the same route, seeing the same scenes again and therefore, I just couldn't help it but to snap a couple of shots for show. ;P

In the end, we went to our fave, little place in Plaza Damas, Warong Uncle Don. I just found out the name of the place like a few mins ago. It's one of my fave eatery tucked romantically, quietly by the corner of the area. I always call it the 'porridge place @ damas'. hehe...

Soto Ayam

Salt beef sandwich

Chicken Satay

Nasi Lemak bungkus

From left: Saltbeef & Pastrami sandwiches

Yup, Salt beef was recommended by a friend & I couldn't help it but order two types of sandwiches! Both were equally good & cost RM8.00 per plate. Mama ordered soto ayam and satay. I had the nasi lemak right after I consumed the sandwiches and half of the satay. That same night, I guiltily skipped badminton. =S I guess I've put on a few calories that night. Adui...

If you know this place or managed to find it, I would recommend the sandwiches, porridge and satay. Really sedap! The porridge will whet your appetite as soon as you see the condiments laid one by one on your table. That was how I felt when I tried it the first time! Trust me...it's really really good!

Hip, Fun, Interesting & Loud...

Seated Right: Nor (front) & Hana (back)
Seated Left: Sahilah (front) & Sofia (back)

The night of meeting the girls was rather interesting at Twenty One, BSC. We met up for dinner & there were lots of things to talk about.

The place was quite hip & happening, considering it was a Friday night. I would say it's a restaurant cum pub? So, you can imagine the crowd turned up that night.

I was happy meeting them but the loudness kill the moment when we started to have our chat sessions! So for the next meet, we could be somewhere ncie & much better place to have conversations together. ;)

None the less, i still had much fun 'shouting' during conversations & forced both ears super-wide opened to listen to you dearies.

So, i'm dedicating this post solely for you 3 ladies with our photos taken that night.
Hip, Fun, Interesting & Loud
night to remember. =)

I was testing the camera's light exposure
when this pix was captured.

Us girls with Nor's eyes half-closed!
That's normal... =P

Delicious, Dua Residency

Unlike other Delicious outlets in Damansara & Bangsar, Delicious at Dua Residency, which is situated at Jalan Tun Razak has a classy touch to its atmosphere & decors. With its dimmed lights arrangements & comfortable sofa settings, make the whole 1st floor of Dua Annexe looked so eye catching & heart warming.

Arrived around 10 plus that night, patrons of the restaurant were still having their dinners over happy chats. The sounds of glasses, fork & spoons clinking & a live music band with a melodious jazz singer made it even a livelier place to hang out!

We were seated on the platform just beside the glass windows & I can watch the whole scene of the restaurant. Hearing the soothing jazzy tunes from Fify, the jazz singer really calmed us, making our tummies even hungrier for food & photos! hehee..

Do head down to Delicious at Dua Residency, which is the only outlet in KL that provides good decent pasta, delectable desserts, super chic ambiance & get serenaded live by sweet jazzy tunes.

Laksa Johor & Apple Crumble

Instead of eating out, this time i shall share with you on my experience of cooking with my cousins! Well, literally i didn't cook the dishes but my part was just merely presenting and snapping them. hehe...seriously im very good at the presentation part, my cousins actually nicknamed me "The Neat Freak"...oh well, whether like it or not, it stuck on me ever since then!

Anyway, here's how we started & ended the relaxing Sunday together.

The Making of
Laksa Johor & Apple Crumble

The day before Sunday, mama & i went grocery shopping & TTDI market for the ingredients. I just love being in the fruits section. The colors of freshness & crispness can be seen here & i can't resist in taking a pix of the ambience! hehe...and it goes the same to the fish area at the market. That wee hours in the morning had woken me with their loudness & cleanliness. I love walking around the market, so many things to see & learn. The fish we got that day.

Over @ cuz's place, we unpacked the ingredients & immediately started our cooking project. It was 4.45pm. We started to cook the laksa first. So, here are some pix to show u how we did it, mama's way!!!

Executive Chef:
Mama
Assistant Chefs:
Chelle, Via, Jee Hoe, Liss, Marcus & Maria

Fish was cleaned, boiled, shredded & pounded.

Onions, thinly sliced.

Sprouts, tails & heads, plucked.
(Wanna guess who had the patience of doing this?!! Yes, assistant chef, Via...& some help from assistant chefs, Jee Hoe & Chelle)

Spaghetti, blanched.

Mama showed her skills while assistant chef, Chelle, wrote down the recipes & assistant chef, Jee Hoe, looked & learned.

Condiments, neatly placed accordingly.
(Assistant chef Via's fave part in putting things together)

Important part of it all, the gravy.

Ingredients for apple crumble.

Granny Smith Apples + Raisins

The end looked of the pie before putting in the oven to bake.

Everything was then laid out on the table.

I've nvr tried mama's laksa johor or apple crumble before. It was really good! How i imagined the taste should be like was exactly how i wanted it to be! I had a full plate of laksa & 2 tiny servings of the dessert. It's irresisstible for me not to eat since there was a pot of hot yummy custard sauce + vanilla ice cream + strawberries accompanied the pie! Hooooo...Haaaaaa!!!

Everyone gave a big thumbs-up for those 2 dishes of the day.
A satisfying meal, full stomach & relaxing day with family, what more could i ask for.

Next week, we will be having another cooking session with the family, this time assistant chef, Liss, will prepare her signature dish & mama will bake another delectable dessert. I won't tell you what the dishes are yet. So, do stay tune & wait till Sunday comes!

Luv Luv!!!
