Before, During & After Earth Hour

Last weekend i had to do some networking and attend some events, as all were work-related for my company. Before joining the Earth Hour event happening in KL, my colleague and i had to attend the Stylo event that was opened to the public in Lake Garden KL. There was an open, white tent built in the middle of the Lake Garden with food stalls and bazaars set up. Also, there was live performances to entertain the crowd that attended.

I had to stop to get at least 2 cuppies...hahaha

Later after hanging around the Stylo event for about 1/2 an hour, both Kak Nor and i rushed back to the car, as we only had 20 mins to drive to Menara KL to watch the lights off! We were invited to be at the top floor, Tower 5, where we were told that we can see the whole of KL night scene better.

When we arrived, i got so excited when we were escorted to the registration table and we had to sign a form which stated that Menara KL won't be responsible for any injuries/death/lost yada yada..the fact that the tower has a rather low wall (same height as below our knees) or no glass windows to protect us from falling (if a strong wind blows someone off), that really got me excited and nervous at the same time! hahaha...crazy via. We were then given a white ribbon each (the ones people get when they attend the Breast Awareness Campaign) to put on for the event.

After KLCC lights were turned off

We didn't make it to the top on time when the lights were turned off. It was all because of the mini jam caused while we were looking for parking around the Menara KL, so all i managed to capture was the pic above.

Kak Nor

Bernama TV was there conducting interviews with everyone about the phenomenal event of the night! hehehe...(i also got interviewed by them, don't know what i've said and acted but i knew i was babbling about how cool that Malaysia was taking part as well)

The band that performed in the dark while waiting for the lights to be light up

The invited guests and media waiting for the KLCC lights to be lighted

The result of waiting for an hour in the chilly darkness?....

...the view of the beautiful and serene lighted KLCC.

I was impressed with the management's way of appearing KLCC from the darkness. The lights were turned on slowly, stage by stage and then whoaaaaaaaaa...Silverish lighted KLCC with soft silver shadows around it. Very sexy indeed. I heard people applausing and gasping with the sounds of 'huh', 'wow', 'hehe', 'whoa' & u imagine the rest... =P It was a breathtaking moment i would say. So pretty! I was happy being there, the chilly wind that blew my hair and dress, the excitement of being there on the unshielded tower and also being with Kak Nor, my partner-in-crime-of-everlasting-craziness-happiness-&-sweetness.

We left feeling contented and a memory to remember for a lifetime.

Luv Luv!!

PS: A big shout out to the GM of Menara KL, En. Nash for the invitation to watch the Earth Hour with the other invited guests. Really appreciate it! Thank you!!!

Cousin's Engagement

My cousin got engaged last weekend and i had the honour to prepare the barang-barang hantaran for the engagement. My FIRST ever time doing and preparing the decors and bouquets for an engagement event.

Can you imagine me doing it?..........hahaha well, believe it or not, I did it!! My patience and knowledge in being creative and also time spent in juggling with work, family and friends were finally tested on how i am able to manage everything happily and satisfyingly!! hehee...i guess being a neat and organize person help me to manage all these. =D

Now let's check out
Via's first attempt in making things pretty and beautiful, shall we?

Silver dulangs & clear boxes

The ring box

I used 3 colour combinations of silver, cream and white. Very serene, pretty and definitely creamy... =P

Engagement cake

This engagement cake is made by my aunty. It's a chocolate fruit cake with icing sugar.

Everything that you see above were all seriously homemade. heehe...Even the pink and white chocolates and cakes were all baked, cupped & traced by my aunty, whereas the decorated boxes and flower and ribbon arrangements by yours truly. =D (bangga sikit ok!)

The duo that made everything happened and really organized were none other than the mama & daughter team...

Cameron Highlands Family Trip

Odw to Cameron Highlands & Marble quarry

Last 2 weeks ago, we were invited by papa's close friend & families to Cameron Highlands for a short weekend trip. I was excited, already thinking of the cool weather, scones, scenery & strawberries!!! haha..i was also happy to know that i'll be seeing my dear family friends' kids, Sin Yi & Hau Hau. hehe...

Strawberry Park Resort

Before arriving Cameron Highlands, we had lunch somewhere in Ipoh. We arrived Strawberry Park Resort around 3 ishpm. I was looking so sleepy and abit uncertain about the whole area as i've not been there for so many years. The last time i was in C.Highlands was like a kid? hehe..going up the hill wasn't so bad as i was making sure my head was covered with my hands and making sure it doesn't move so much. I get motion sickness easily but i managed to reach the top feeling happy and easy. But i think my face gave it away as my eyes were like sooooo sepet, showing my 'baru-wake-up-face'...ergh.

Upon arrival, we were served with these delicious food!!! SCONES! hahaa.....i also ordered strawberry milkshake and there was chocolate cheesecake brought by one of the families.

Homemade scones with cream & homemade strawberry jam,
strawberry milkshake & chocolate cheesecake

The view from inside James Morrison Terrace

The Strawberry Park Resort is owned by my father's friend. It's a family business and i really like the place. Very well maintained and so relaxing. Being there just took away all my stress and i was really happy somehow. How can i NOT be happy??? Just before this Cameron trip, i just had my Melbourne trip!! OMG!!! I had an early big break from work beginning of the year already. Heavenly peace...hahaa.

Dinner at James Morrison Terrace

When you go to town in C.Highlands, apart from going to Starbucks, you can also check out the local restaurants and cafes there. With the cool weather, it's nicer to sit and enjoy food and drinks with great companionship while enjoying the out-of-the-resort view.

One of the places for dinner that you can go is....

The little cafe is unique with colorful settings and decors. Not only that, the fusion menu goes hand in hand with the whole colourful & funky concept.

That nite, we had so much food! Steamboat & mainly seafood dishes. Let me show u the pics!

Yummy slurp-slurp steamboat

Fried Fish with sauce & another fish dish

1. Butter Prawns

2. Hot & Sour Prawns

3. Sweet & Sour Prawns

We had 2 types of fish and 3 types of prawns dishes. Seriously it was just seafood that nite. Fresh seafood and wholesome of goodness! hehe..everything was just different in terms of tastes and presentations. Like i said, colourful and funky.

I know what's coming after the big meal...
(This is sooooo my fave part...!!) DESSERTS!!!

The deserts!! Cheesecake & scones with strawberries!!

To really end the whole goodness in the tum-tum, a cup of warm green tea would just do the job. Ahhhh...

Not forgetting, great companies and friends are a must!!!

I really like the setting of this cafe. So colourful and also cheerful to be taken in photos!!

My parents with friends and the owners of the cafe. Meet Uncle Jim in white shirt on the left and Aunt Alice in black on the right pics. Apart from owning the Cafe Downtown Hotel, they also own 2 other eateries.

Rosedale Bistro

and also

Roselane Coffee House

So dear friends, if u happened to be in Cameron Highlands, do check one of these eateries ok. Great place for food, hanging out and just chill the cool weather away!! heheh...

Apart from sight seeing and consuming yummy food, here's what you can do with a bunch of friends, family or anyone! Charades!!!
We had our famous session of charades that nite. hahaa..it's my family's trademark of getting warm up or having serious fun.The best thing about this game is that everyone, young and old can join in to play! A person's skills can be shown during the game. hahahaa...

Papa the organiser

The 2 teams competing

Apart from staying indoors, we had much fun outdoors too.
Jungle tracking!!!! OMG, yes i went jungle tracking and it was really fun, tiring and good!

View from our apartment

It was a 2818metres of craziness, walk, climb, jump, slip, tumble, fall, trip and much laughter!!! hahaa...the result? I had a good morning walk and much good, fresh air! Haaaa...u guys just have to do the jungle tracking. Worth your trip to Cameron Highlands, no joke!

After the walk, with that empty tummy, u can go to James Morrison Terrace and get lunch. What we had that afternoon was the Thai lunch. Ohhhh...the food pun sedap gila!

After washing up from the walk, for those of you who loves to pamper and relax, Mandrayu Spa will do the job! *wink wink...
(I had the body polish and whoaaaaa it was really ticklishly nice...hehee)

Strawberry chocolates served b4 the lights out! How chick is that?!!

Just before leaving back to PJ, we had a chance of checking out the strawberry farm.

Tea plantation

While odw on the winding roads, i managed to capture the tea plantation...so pretty!
I hope i've tempted u to plan a trip there. Get your family or friends or both...way cooler and fun!!!! Don't forget your camera!
