Pancake House International

It's true what my dear friend, Erinchunk mentioned in her blog lately and I quote "macam malas nak blog"...ya, i have that feelings in me too since March had squeezed the brain out of my medium sized head. Words seem to overflow on papers for work & as if i left none for the blog UNTIL.............................i found some pictures taken earlier this month & I've forgotten all about them!

So, here i go with today's post-dated article...

Pancake House International
@ Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Via, Lulu & Sofia

Earlier this month, even though each of us was busy with work & school, we girls managed to put our busy moments aside & spent time together over dinner at Pavilion. Lulu suggested to dine in at Pancake House International. I love it when friends suggest places to eat, just so i can taste new food & experience new ambiance. =)

This Philippines diner is its first branch opened in Malaysia. The specialty is their Filipino desserts, in which of course includes the variety of pancakes. They also serve main dishes such as steaks, chickens, pastas, sandwiches, salads & others.

By this time, we still went crazy, even when the picture terlebih snap ke kiri... =P

We ordered the dinner sets & each main was accompanied with pancakes & tacos.
Simple dinner but it made our tummies so full & bloated. Lol!!

"Girls, we shall have another gathering soon ok?! Mwah!"

Articles i love reading Part 2

Again on Yahoo today, an article on 8 Foods that Fight Stress by Sara Reistad-Long caught my attention. Now, this is exactly what i need to cope with my days from Mon-Fri..and sometimes Sat-Sun. Even just thinking of the days made my body twitched slightly. Stress...

Here are the 8 suggested foods that i should be consuming from now on:

1. Dark Chocolate
(Enhances mood. Mmm-hmmm...)

2. Lowfat/Skim Milk
(Listen up ladies! Consuming 4 or more glasses of warm, lowfat/skim milk everyday will experience lesser stress-related PMS symptoms. So, start drinking for happier days!)

3. Oatmeal
(High in fiber but i'm not so fond of the oats. Maybe can substitute it with digestive biscuits. That's nice.)

4. Salmon
(Omega 3 fatty goodness can lower the stress symptoms. Hmm...I like fish. =D)

5. Walnuts
(Help lower blood pressure. Must start liking nuts?!.. from now on..i guess.)

6. Sunflower Seeds
(Good source of folate. Hmm, does kuaci counts?)

7. Spinach
(Contains magnesium...whatever it is, i LOVE this green ALOT!!)

8. Blueberries
(Antioxidants. I love them in muffins, pancakes, ice-creams, pies...hmm, must i list out more? hehe!!)

So ladies & gentlemen,
let's pick up that glass of warm milk for better health & less stress...CHEERS!!!

Do read more on the article for better explanations.

3 cheers to deliciousness!

.ONE.
ASAM PEDAS RESTAURANT

One of the many signature dishes in Malay cooking, almost every state in Malaysia serves asam pedas for lunch or dinner. However, asam pedas is prepared & cooked differently in different states. Some are deliciously hot & spicy and some are surprisingly err...sweet & tangy??!! (Eww!)

Anyway, we found a nice decent place for asam pedas in The Curve. Under the management of The Royal Bintang Hotel, Asam Pedas Restaurant is located just beside Marche. They serve mainly Malay delicacies such as soto ayam, mee kari, mee sup, mee goreng, kuih muih including the goreng-goreng (frying) dishes.

That particular evening, we ordered asam pedas ikan merah, sayur campur goreng & puteri asmara. With a plate of steamed, hot, white rice, the asam pedas was simply nice eaten with slices of fish fillets & generous amount of okras and egg plants. I just wish they put in more daun kesum. Yum!! The stir fried vegetable was very tasty. Mama really enjoyed this dish. As for the dessert, i ordered puteri asmara for the very first time! I don't usually go for coconut milk based dessert but at that moment, i just felt like trying it and...it was really good!!! The dumplings were chewy & coconut milk was not too sweet, which made the dish delicious. I really really loved it & would definitely suggest you to try it.

Whatever it is, i think it will never beat the home cooked asam pedas mama or asam pedas from kampung. Yums!!

.TWO.
MEDAN SELERA IDAMAN

I came to know of this eatery after moving into that area. It's a mix of Thai-Malay food & i love some of the dishes served here.

My fave dishes would be the ikan 3 rasa, sup ekor, kailan ikan masin, ayam masak daun selasih & some frying dishes. The fish is cooked with a special sauce & usually, my family would order a black pompret for this dish. The oxtail soup is also tasty. Not too thick & simply comforting, great for those who are sick.

Thumbs up modelled by Kecik..hehehe

Even though i love tomyam soup but i don't like the one served by Idaman as it has a hint of sweetness & mixed with coconut milk. I prefer the clear, spicy ones with cili padi & kaffir leaves!

This place also serves nasi campur during lunchtime & the spread of dishes are really nice! I would definitely suggest you to try the fish curry, fried chicken & tofu dish.

.THREE.
RASTA TTDI

Located at the top of the hill in TTDI, you can expect youngsters, families, Harley-Vespa-Kapcai-Scooter riders & even foreigners chilling out here every night!

With a spacious, high ceiling area, the ambiance is really airy, cooling & laid back.

Food stalls surrounding the far end corner in an L shape, make easy for customers to order & choose their food. What i like about Rasta is the variety of food provided.

Food such as dim sums, goreng-goreng, soups, westerns, snacks, pastas & yummy desserts.

With a local kopitiam, Coffee Hut, built just beside Rasta, you'll need some time to survey the drink menu...seriously. The extensive list of local coffees & teas make your choice to choose one drink a headache! Choices are good but too many sometimes will just...well, you end up choosing the simplest drink like teh o ais / teh tarik? Unless you love to explore & try new things, good for ya!

Usually, my visit to Rasta will happen when i have sudden cravings for certain food like macaroni beef strips, mee goreng melayu style, quarter waffle with strawberries & cream, tomyam campur & my most fave right now, pisang goreng with maple syrup. Yeap, nowadays, you can even get pisang goreng at night! This banana fritter was crispy on the outside & soft inside. The saltiness of the batter was just nice & accompanied with drips of maple syrups...YUUUUMMMSS!! For RM5, you get 8 crispy pieces. Even though it's cheaper buying from the road side, but this is definitely worth paying for! hehe...

Get it from the Pisang King stall

I luv pasta & the macaroni beef strips was really tasty! Ever since i tasted it the first time when Rasta was way back at the carpark zone, I've been ordering it till now. I suggested to my friends & they LOVE it too! Creamy sauce with lots of mushrooms & beef strips, the macaroni is best to be served warm.

From top left: Half waffle with ice-cream, Quarter waffle with butter
& maple syrup & Quarter waffle with strawberries & cream

The waffles are always so crispy & fluffy. The best thing about the waffles served here are the variety of toppings & the sizes; quarter-half -full..you choose. I think it's slightly pricey but to say no to dessert??...NO WAY!!!

Gig: Placebo

3 days ago, i managed to attend the Placebo concert!!

Yes, eventhough i have lots of things to do for the towerthon event this Sunday & squeezing my mind out for texts & contents for a brochure, i still went & walked over to KL Live Center (which is just a few mins away from my office!).

Yes! Sahilah & i walked. Hahaha...best giler! The best part, i was lucky to be able to finish the day's work, quickly ran out from office, hand in hand with her & jenjalan.

We girls thought it was a little early to start queuing, so we walked along Jalan Pinang & stopped by Modesto for drinks.

I was trying to destress myself & take away my mind from the workload. Right there and then i was thinking about the presence of Sahilah & my dear friend, Farah Nadz, who just gave birth to Sayf Irfan. =D
