My Happy Secrets Simply to be Happy!

I believe it's brilliant to do things naturally to be happy!
So, what makes Nurvia happy most of the time?

3 Fs: Fun, Family & Friends
Being with my family & friends are always fun! The chats, laughter, opinions, loudness & madness characteristics, if put & share together become one quality happy gathering. So, do spend time with family & friends always whether it's over dinner, grocery shopping, jamming, walk in the park, bbq or even over simple hang out or drinks! Keep in touch & send that 'hello' over sms will do.

Exercise
My routine includes bodypump (Mondays), bodyjam (Thursdays) & bodycombat/hit the treadmill weekends. Occasionally, i'll swim when i feel like it.

Chocolates
Chocs give me the ooohmp & happy moods every time! But don't consume too much, just a piece or two out of the huge bar would do.

Take some quality quiet time alone
Sometimes, talking less will drift my minds off to lala land & i become imaginative about things. That includes driving, listening music, reading, watching tv & walking.

Hobbies
I love photography & blogging especially about food & nature. Doing what you like not only provides you with an active mind but also keeps your body fit & healthy. So, let's be creative & have hobbies!

Eat Good, Comforting Food
My most favourite food will always be a simple bowl of kuey teow/bihun soup! That is what i call my comfort food. Regardless of me being happy, sad, sick, in pain, feeling the blues, stress & mood-less, i'll search for that hot bowl till i get it! Thank god apart from mum's cooking, i've found some good potential outlets offering it. It makes me happy girl! Seriously.

Watching Movies
This is what i love to do during most of my free time. Watching a movie simply makes me happy. Any genre of movies you name it; English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Malay, Hindustan, French, Italian & other foreign movies even cartoons & animated ones, i'll watch gladly. Well, i'm a film & media student, what you think? hehe...

China Treasures Restaurant

I stumbled across China Treasures Restaurant webpage while browsing through the net. What interests me was that they serve halal Chinese cuisine & also dim sum! Hah!!! Not many places offer halal dim sum around town nowadays & plus, just 15 mins drive from my place! Coolios...

Waking up early in the morning everyday has become a routine for me.

Mogwai tuning in the background while we were cruising through the hectic-less road on a Sunday, best giler! I was so sure that i won't miss getting those plates of little morsels. Well, nothing to worry anyway since i've made a reservation. Haha...

Driving into the driveway of the Sime Darby Convention Centre into the parking lot was easy as there were only few cars & entrance was free! We were even more relaxed when we entered to a quiet, elegant atmosphere of the restaurant. Very comfortable.

Since we were the first diners to arrive, we took our time to order. At the same time, i took the opportunity to look around & similar to most restaurants nowadays, they also have an open kitchen concept. Private rooms are also available for private functions & dine-ins.

Then our orders arrived!

Get your eyes & taste buds ready ladies & gentlemen, as these photos of tiny morsels might just deliciously tempt you! ;P

Chee Cheong Fun & Century Eggs with Chicken Porridge
(The porridge was super duper yum!!! A must order in my next visit!)

Steamed Prawn Dumplings

BBQ Chicken Buns

Steamed Fishballs with Green Peas

Egg Tarts

Shanghai Pancakes (Lotus)

Avocado Dessert

Everytime i go for dim sum, i would definitely order the porridge, chee cheong fun, bbq chicken buns, fishballs & egg tarts! Always, my fave! Mama's fave would be the fried yams. hehe...As for desserts, usually i would go for ginseng & red dates tong sui but since my eyes saw the shanghai pancakes on the menu, i ticked that with both eyes closed! hahaa...That's a family fave! Always go for lotus paste when ordering pancakes ok. Baru best...

Relaxing atmosphere, great food & reasonable price, everything was just nice!
Do try & head down to China Treasures & make reservations @

Everything about Jake Gyllenhaal!!

Sahilah, this is for us to daydream & drool!!! hahaha...
...

Disney/Everett
Photo taken from here

LOL! Ok ok...i never really thought that Jake Gyllenhaal can be so hot in a movie!

While watching Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time at cineleisure recently, i was practically smiling most of the time everytime the camera focused on him & when i got a text msg from Sahilah after the movie, "So, how was the movie?"...i replied, "OMG! He's freaking hot!!!". Hahaha...(Don't worry babe, i'm just sharing my thoughts over here, i know he's yours!!! =P)

So back to my reverie, like maybe most girls would do (
i think?!), i went home & actually Yahoo-ed him through People online. I've never actually search him online before & i thought maybe it was time for me to do so. (Oh yes, it was so worth it!)

His photos, quotes & articles were amazingly interesting & i can't seem to stop reading them. Haha! Talking about icon madness! (
Oooh lala...) And so, i wish to share some here with you the articles, quotes & photos i've check out so far. (Drool drool...haha!...Gosh, im crazy. Oh?! Have i mentioned he has a nice, charming smile?!...haih....)

“The Jake Gyllenhaal workout plan…starts with growing long, long hair,” the actor jokes with Entertainment Tonight Canada. “Very long…gorgeous greasy locks and then washing every day….Wash, shampoo, then condition. Washing works the biceps and then the triceps by conditioning. And vigorously rubbing all of your body with soap really defines the abs and the pectoral muscles. And if you do squats while you’re bathing — that’s it!”

"This," Gyllenhaal told his admirers as he pointed to his body, "is the real Sex and the City!"

The Paddy Field, Seberang Perak

Here's something about me.

I was born in Johor Bahru but was brought up in Sitiawan, Perak for 17 years. Right after high school, i went straight into college & uni in Damansara Jaya. Immediately after that, did the twinning program in Australia & came back to KL.

So basically, most of the time, i'm always traveling, especially on roads. That also includes my family. We've been traveling since i was little until now.

Throughout these years of traveling on roads, in the sky or even the sea, i've found my favourite traveling route, which is to drive to & fro my hometown by crossing through a long, straight road with beautiful view of green paddy fields on both sides of the way & the vast reaches of the blue sky & clouds. That would be Seberang Perak.

My fave subjects, the old hut & the tree

It's amazing to know that no matter how often i travel through this area, it is still breathtakingly beautiful & mesmerizing. The colours of nature, the old huts by the roadsides & that lifeless looking tree that still stands strongly with nothing but just dry branches sticking out, making it the best subject while i took a landscape photo of it. Many years, i've been wanting to capture it & i finally did! I can't share how excited i felt back then at this place. I squealed, smiled, laughed & maybe even expressed out the 'Oooohhs...' & 'Ahhhhhs...' so many times that made mama & aunt shook their heads, laughing. That was how excited i was.

I think i looked quite silly. Imagine me with camera in my hands, body posture positioning motionless in the driver's seat for few mins & smiling while praising the beauty of the scenery & SNAP...captured a few shots. THE shots that i've been waiting to share with you all! My love for this route can only be shared through these photos. Only 3 will do. =)

Here's a paddy shot for u nature lover!

With Mew's Comforting Sounds tuning in the car, with a steady drive, I will think nothing but only the soothingness & calmness of this wide, open space. Stress free! Haih...

To experience what i feel for this place, then the only way is to take a slow drive through Seberang Perak while enjoying the view. If you are lucky, you might just get a glimpse of white storks flying around the green paddy fields. Oh, don't forget to bring along good music with you!

Pasar Loken, Ipoh

Ipoh mali..........Chelle check this out!!

Amid all the preparations for my brother's wedding, we still had a chance to check out Pasar Loken in Ipoh.

Set out wee hours in the morning on a Sunday, we took a slow drive to Ipoh. I was indeed excited thinking about whether the market was up to its standard selling serious 2nd hand & wicked, old school items that i thought would be great for you Chelle. It was great babe! I suggest that you should go to this place......!

Love the green table & blue plates.
So bright!

We had a little breakfast just to stock up on our tummies. We had roti canai, tosai & mee goreng. Just the way to do it..yeah...& a little poyoness with my pix! ;P

Then there we were.

Pasar Loken, Ipoh
Sunday, 23 May 2010

I started taking photos from the beginning of each stall till the end! I was having so much fun checking out & learning things i've never seen or heard before. It was exciting & really the market i was hoping to see & be at.

This was the very first pencils used on woods back then.

What was also interesting was the people who were around that area. Old & young people looking around but i was more interested listening to the older generations bargaining & buying stuffs in their own dialects. Very cool uncles!

Buying watch ahh uncle?!

Even Moksu, Mama & Ariff borong barang-barang at Pasar Loken!

Moksu posed with the errr gun (dunno real or not)
& old school bicycle locker

Mama asking for the price of a butcher knife & brother with his RM3 KitKat slouchy bag.
What a buy!!

This razor below was amazingly handsome! Made in England, the quality of the razor can be felt with its weight & design. I fell in love with it!

What a real beauty!

What did we buy?

A candle holder, a baby bottle, a pair of golden ashtray (for decor purpose) & teapot for papa!

We ended our freaking hot day in Ipoh with a bowl of taufufah & ice cincau! Yum!! Interesting thing about this soya bean stall was that they offered a few types of taufufah! Mango, emerald, garland chrysanthemum taufufah. Mama took the emerald one & super yum! heheh...tasted very pandan-ish. We had a chat with the owners & apparently, their shop came out on Astro just the day before our visit. There we were slurping & chatting & did i mention it's super cheap? hehe...So, do head down to Kedai Soya Bean Delights for a change of taste of their homemade soya drinks & taufufah. With such hot weather, i'm sure you'll drop by their shop to cool down. =)

On the way home, i saw the pretty bricky ACS Ipoh School. I wish my school was this nice!
