A day business trip to Singapore

red dot traffic in Singapore

On the 12th June, Thursday (i know this is a last month's post!) i went to Singapore for a business trip with my directors and colleague. I was so excited knowing that i'll be traveling for work and plus to Singapore! =D

We traveled by Air Asia and arrived before lunch time. As usual i had my headache but after lunch, i was back to my normal smiley self. We went to red dot traffic, a funky red building which has the same color as a red postbox. I got to know from the local taxi driver that red dot traffic was formerly a traffic police headquarters'. True enough, apart from the fresh red painted building, classy glass windows of cafes, clean-nice-white tiled-toilets and lifts, the architecture of office doors and windows still maintain its old-fashioned (ness). I thought it was a convent school or jail! =S

Now it has been refurbished to a design museum, creative services, lifestyle organizations and lotsa cool cafes. I loveeeeeeee....yummeh!

Anyway, we went to red dot to look for a cafe while waiting for the meeting to start. Here are some photos.

We had our meeting at MAS, which lasted for an hour. My fave part was when it's time for sight-seeing!! We took a few rides in some taxi(s) and walked around to some places. I just love people watching and i just wish that i could walk around on the pedestrian walkways like how they did it in Singapore. It's just so kewl!!!

Since it was a day business trip, i was dead tired at the end of the day. Reached home nearly 1am, can't think of anything else but to sleep sleep sleep...
(apart from the great trip, coffee breaks, jap food and people watching, the singaporean taxi driver who drove us from the city to the airport had definitely made our if not MY day for making all of us laugh with his sarcasms, jokes, issues and whatever he was commenting and babbling on both neighboring countries).

Hmm..can't wait for my next business trip! *wink wink

Fish head anyone???

I don't really like eating curry with rice. I prefer 'asam pedas'..ohhhh heaven. Not only rice i would eat it with but also roti jala, roti canai, white bread, wheat bread...u name it!

But after that night of suffering from a terrible 'sakit perut' episode, which lasted for 2 days(!!!??) i am now controlling myself from taking spicy food. Oh 'asam pedas'... =(

Anyway, last Saturday, i went to Kampung Attap with my parents for lunch. According to papa, he likes eating curry fish head at this particular place for lunch as it serves nice curry fish head. Occasionally he would go there with his friends for lunch and at the same time catching up with each other. He brought us there and it was my 4th meal at Kampung Attap. hehe...

Papadam, fried chicken, sotong, taugeh, green-chilly-onion-veg
& of course the curry fish head!!

Close up of the curry fish head..i like the cheek part of the fish..
FRRRESHHHH! (sayang remember? hehehe...)

Before my 4th trip, they were only running their alfresco-dining-mamak-style beside the road. Now, they opened another restaurant (just beside the open area) for customers to enjoy the fish head indoor. But i prefer eating at the open air area, as you know lah mamak food makes your whole body smells like one too.

Whatever it is, i think this place serves very nice curry fish head and also the fried chicken..yummehhh!! I only like eating curry fish head here compared to other mamak stall, eventhough the place is abit far but i guess it is worth my trip for a heavy lunch. I can't wait for my 5th visit. hehehe....

KLue Urbanscapes 2008!!

An all-day creative arts festival will be held soon this month. There will be lotsa programmes on that day: music, arts, films and...a marketplace!! That means we can shop and get live entertainment as well! Yaaay!!!

The nice thing about this festival is that it is "user-generated", which means KLue is not only working together with their sister publications such as Junk (they will be hosting the music stages) and Tongue In Chic (they will be bringing some colour and fashion flair to the marketplace) but also they will be working together with "users" such as the general public, partners, collectives and individuals - each of them expressing themselves uniquely and contributing to the festival as a whole.

Here are the details of the festival:

Date: 28th June 2008
Time: 12pm - 12mn
Venue: Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre.
Sentul Park,

Down with the 'F's and also others!

Last Monday after work, I knew I'm getting a fever. I was quiet in office the whole day and didn't do much movement. Reached home at 6.20pm, straight went to bed and sleep. 1 hour later, woke up, feeling feverish cold joined my parents for dinner. Then went to bed again. I was bedridden for 2 days.

Later, i got to know from papa that there were other 6 people in the Ooi Family got infected. (Btw, it was my father who gave us the 'F's) But they got well after a day or two and I am still sick till today, while blogging about it.

I was not only down with 'F'ever but also 'F'lu, sore-throat, phlegm, asthma, blocked-nose! haih..i think this is a conspiracy!!

Anyway, i'm much better now (i hope to clear everything and be me again!!!) hemp...

Theaters...

Recently, I was paid by the company to watch some theatrical performances. I LOVE watching movies, theater shows and performances of any genre. I was excited and anticipated to watch Balagan and P.Ramlee The Musical. Enough said, here are some photos I managed to snap.

Balagan (Cirque Style Entertainment) - 30th May 2008

Before the show starts

Balagan is a theatrical circus, which includes a mixture of dance and acrobatic movements. Overall of the show was okay as I have seen circus acts that were shown on tv and live performances in Genting Highlands. However, I enjoyed the comedian that lightens up the crowd and he was very funny and smart with his tricks.

The Finale...Try to look for the guest of honor..*hint hint (stripes)

The guest of honor, Dato' Azalina, was also present for the performance that night. There were not many turnouts that night as many empty seats were available. It was entertaining for the kids and the music was extraordinary. I even got a free goodie bag given by my colleague who also came to watch with her friends.

P.Ramlee The Musical Season 2 - 31st May 2008

I snapped this from one of the newspaper.
It is one of the dancing scenes from the performance.

The finale of the performance

I missed last year's P.Ramlee Season 1 theater performance as the tickets were selling like hot cakes! But the chance came for me this time to watch the Season 2 of the show. Overall, it was a GREAT show! I love the dance routine performed by the casts as it was very colorful and well choreographed. It made me wishing I were part of the group. The whole theater was full and such a sporting crowd. Luv the show luv the crowd too.

Have a great weekend! Luv Luv...
